BLUE skies made a welcome return to Bournemouth beach this bank holiday weekend.
Sun shone down on the sand and sunbathers during this month’s first bank holiday on Saturday, May 4.
On what was a foggy start in Purbeck, clouds soon cleared across the county to make way for perfect spring weather and temperatures as high as 16C.
Sunbathers lined Bournemouth beach and the Lower Gardens on Saturday afternoon to catch some rays before the cloud is expected to return on Sunday.
The Met Office said that nationally the bank holiday weekend weather will be a “mixed picture” with warmer-than-average sunny patches breaking through the clouds.
Monday’s forecast is less certain in the southern counties, the Met Office said, but it will likely rain in the morning.
Its spokesperson said: “Expect a wetter morning but I’m hopeful by the afternoon there will be some drier interludes that develop in there, but there could still be some heavy showers around.”
