A THREE-bedroom flat up the road from Boscombe Pier has sold in auction for £155,000 in a bidding war.

The purpose-built, self-contained second floor flat at 42A Sea Road was among 149 lots listed across southern England in the May auction of Clive Emson Auctioneers.

Rob Marchant, the Dorset auctioneer for the regional land and property auction firm, said: “A total of 28 bids were made, with the final one at £155,000, which was £25,000 above guide price.

“We were instructed by the trustees to sell the flat, which is approximately 300 yards from the pier and beach and is on the remainder of a 99-year lease from 1966.”

Meanwhile, a two-bedroom freehold bungalow at 98 Portland Road, Winton, Bournemouth, which had a guide price of £150,000 to £160,000 has been made re-available.

Joint auctioneers for both properties were House & Son.

The firm’s next auction, the 250th since starting up in 1989 by Clive Emson MBE, ends on June 12, with bidding live from June 10.

Lot entries close on May 20, with the catalogue available from May 24.
