DANNY Ford is hopeful Zach Cook’s injury is “nothing serious to worry about” after the Aussie crashed out of action at Berwick Bandits.
After colliding with Poole Pirates teammate Tom Brennan in heat three, Cook was ruled out of the remainder of the meeting at Shielfield Park.
Pirates, who trailed by 10 points early on, went on to win the meeting 46-44.
Asked for an update on Cook, promoter Ford said: “I think Tom came under him a little bit hard of the final lap, which wasn’t ideal and hit the air fence, landed really awkwardly.
“He’s got pain in his lower back and around his abdomen region, so not great.
“It’s nothing serious to worry about, but he’s certainly going to wake up a bit sore.”
Poole are due back in action away at Oxford Cheetahs in the BSN Series on Wednesday.
