BUILDERS and manufacturers have been recognised in a succession of major award ceremonies.
Wimborne-based Superior, which manufacturers seals and O-rings, won regional golds in the Business Growth and Partnerships categories of the EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
The company has ploughed more than £20million into the business since 2012, on machinery, land, factory upgrades and development and training.
Managing director Tim Brown said: “Our company growth plan is very simple – we continue to partner with highly successful companies that are leaders in their sector and industry.
"By attaching ourselves to the most demanding customers, this moves the business on. If our customers grow by 10 per cent, then we need to grow with them.”
Metal decking specialist SMD Ltd won the Innovation Award in the Building Safety Group Health and Safety Awards. It was also a finalist in the Sub-Contractor and Best Use of Technology categories.
Operations manager Rich Brokenshire collected the prize at the Williams Formula One Conference Centre in Grove, Oxfordshire.
He said: “We are delighted to have won this award which we feel demonstrates our continuing commitment to driving health and safety standards to new levels.”
Christchurch-based Mildren Construction was highly commended in the Company of the Year category at the Solent Business Awards at the Hilton Ageas Bowl.
Managing director Simon French said: “This is a fantastic achievement for all our staff as we are very much a team together and without each and every one of them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
Ringwood-based Churchill Retirement Living took bronze awards in the Best Medium Housebuilder and Best Regeneration Scheme categories of the WhatHouse? Awards.
The awards were hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
Chairman and chief executive Spencer McCarthy said: “Our mission is to be the most successful housebuilder in the UK, and these awards demonstrate that we are well on our way to achieving this.”
The company behind a development of 10 flats in Branksome Park was named Best Small Housebuilder at the Whathouse? Awards.
Grovelands, on Burton Road, consists of 10 two- and three-bedroom flats and one penthouse, with a gated entrance.
Managing director Adam O’Brien said: “As a small housebuilder, winning awards such as this is a huge accolade and endorsement for our business. Our objective is always to go the extra mile and we pride ourselves on building a diverse portfolio of bespoke, high quality homes in prime locations.”
