A NEW girl band is promising to shake things up in the pop world, as they get ready to perform, next Saturday night at Night Air at the Piers in association with Corona and Wave 105, the official commercial radio partner of the Bournemouth Air Festival.
Neon Jungle, a new group made up of four girls from London, Suffolk and Scotland, have already amassed a whopping 500,000 YouTube hits for their new song Trouble. The band is made up of Jess Plummer, Asami Zdrenka, Amira McCarthy and Shereen Cutkelvin and their first single is being released on September 1.
The feisty girls spoke to 24Seven about the band’s formation and their plans for world domination.
“We’ve done a few live shows before and the buzz you get off the crowd is amazing. You also never feel lonely with the four of us on stage and we get that support from each other.”
The new single Trouble can best be described as energetic and gives an indication of what Bournemouth audiences can expect next week.
“It’s one of those songs where you can’t not tap your foot or bang your head. It’s so catchy. We’re four individuals with massive personalities and energy. Sometimes we can come across as a bit too much for people.”
“There’s a lot of jumping around on stage. We’ll be playing two or three songs on stage and we have a very diverse album in the pipeline, so you can expect the unexpected.”
As a band, Neon Jungle have been put together from all walks of life and seem to be bonding well.
The girls are in good company as they join Irish rockers Kodaline, Newton Faulkner, Gabriella Cilmi, new boy band Loveable Rogues and 80s pop icons Johnny Hates Jazz and Lisa Stansfield on the Saturday night’s music programme, making for a very family-friendly event.
Complementing this line-up is a host of top music acts on the Friday night, including Blue, Westlife star Shane Filan, The Feeling, feisty girl band Stooshe and X Factor graduates Lucy Spraggen and Diana Vickers.
Tickets are £7 from the BH Live website at bhlivetickets.co.uk, with limited numbers left. Gates open at Boscombe Pier each evening at 6pm, with the show running until 10pm.
