THE body of a woman was discovered in a Bournemouth flat this morning after neighbours alerted the emergency services.
Police and paramedics were called to Mountbatten Gardens in Townsend after a member of the public became concerned for the occupant's welfare.
Dorset Police confirmed they attended at 8.15am and that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman's next of kin have not yet been informed but the coroner has been notified and an inquest will be held at a later date.
Neighbour Alister Cadness told the Daily Echo: "I was worried because the windows of the flat were wide open yesterday and they were still like it this morning.
"I thought something didn't seem right so I called the police."
He said he believed the woman had lived in the flat for several months. She has not yet been identified.
