Resident Karen England spotted a rare feathered visitor outside her home on Saturday afternoon which she identified online as a hoopoe.
βIt flew off before I could take a picture of it,β said Karen. A striking bird with a pinkish-brown crest, one occasionally turns up on the south coast, overshooting on migration from Africa to Europe.
