- Elliot Turner is appearing at the Court of Appeal today in a bid to get his murder conviction and sentence overturned.
- The 21-year-old was found guilty of killing girlfriend Emily Longley by strangling her in his bedroom in Queens Park in Bournemouth in May 2011.
- He was handed a life sentence and told he would have to serve 16 years before being considered for parole.
- The prosecution claim the attack was the culmination of months of anger, jealously and suspicion that she was seeing other men.
- Elliot's parents Leigh and Anita Turner were convicted of perverting the course of justice by removing evidence from the scene. They are currently each serving a 27 month prison sentence.
- Today's hearing is expected to last a day and is before three judges.
