A MOTORCYCLIST killed in a horror crash in East Dorset on Tuesday evening has been named.

Ivan Tomlinson, 59, died after a collision between a Suzuki GSX motorcycle and a Mercedes Sprinter van on the B3078 close to the Horton Inn.

Mr Tomlinson, from Andover, Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene and the road was closed for around four hours.

The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field but was not required to take a patient to hospital.

Currently, the cause of death is not known.
