LEGAL proceedings are under way after a small group of travellers set up home in a Bournemouth park.
Four caravans and other vehicles arrived on Sunday in King’s Park with the travellers camped on a car-park adjacent to the athletics stadium.
Yesterday security guards were on duty at the entrance to the park amid fears that more caravans could arrive.
Bournemouth borough council’s parks and open spaces manager Andy McDonald told the Daily Echo: “Our council officers have taken swift action following a recent unauthorised encampment in King’s Park. They are doing all they can, taking the necessary legal action to move them on as soon as possible.
“In the meantime our council officers are visiting the site on a regular basis to monitor the situation.”
