EIGHTIES heartthrob Nik Kershaw is set to perform a special acoustic show at the Regent Centre in Christchurch later next month as part of a solo tour celebrating 30 years in music.
This rare opportunity to enjoy an intimate evening with a 1980s superstar takes place on Saturday, October 25.
The Bristolian – who had a number of hits including I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down and Wouldn’t It Be Good and was among a host of stars who appeared on the Live Aid music spectacular in 1985.
Kershaw has gone on to pen a number of hits for other artists, notably the most successful and memorable smash No 1 hit of 1991, The One and Only, which turned Chesney Hawkes into a teenage heartthrob.
Elton John, a friend of Kershaw’s, has described him as “one of the best songwriters of a generation” and he asked Nik to play guitar on his hit single Nikita.
Kershaw has also collaborated on numerous albums with Elton John, Bonnie Tyler, Tony Banks of Genesis and Gary Barlow.
He has already been on his 2014 UK Tour, but this concert at the Regent is a one-off special that sees him performing his music in a solo acoustic show that will give his fans a chance to hear a superb set of songs that span his entire career.
