CELEBRITY Liz Hurley went from the red carpet to a muddy field as she took delivery of a pair of pigs through Poole attraction Farmer Palmer’s.
The star, best known for her modelling and performances in films such as Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, was visited by Phillip Palmer himself after her close friend – Canadian-British fashion designer Patrick Cox – decided to buy her the pigs.
Mr Palmer said: “We sourced and delivered the pigs after Patrick got in touch with me for help. He wanted to buy her a present, and she owns a smallholding in Hereford. We found two Gloucester Old Spot pigs that seemed to fit the bill.”
Actress Hurley was so delighted by her newest acquisition that she took to Twitter to inform her 461,000 followers, sharing a photograph with the words: “Here’s one of my new babies... meet Penelope”.
But although the pigs may be the newest addition to her smallholding, they certainly aren’t the only animals the 49-year-old cares for.
She is also the proud owner of five dogs, 13 chickens, two alpacas and one parrot.
Mr Palmer called Hurley “absolutely charming”.
“She is a lovely lady, and very down to earth,” he said.
Although she doesn’t live in Dorset, Hurley has recently been spotted in Wallisdown, where she bought a car from Meridian Majestic Chrysler.
