A CRASH on the A338 Spur Road at Blackwater junction caused chaos on Saturday lunchtime.
Traffic was stationary on the southbound carriageway due to the accident, which involved five vehicles.
Police arrived on the scene at 12.36pm, a spokesperson confirmed.
Traffic was particularly heavy due to the AFC Bournemouth home game on Saturday.
Kick-off was delayed by 30minutes, until 3.30pm, due to the A338 delays, with Cherries captain, Tommy Elphick and goalkeeper Artur Boruc also caught in the tailbacks.
Cherries fan Jamie Grose took this picture with the pair around 1pm.

Motorists were also delayed on the Avon Causeway and through Christchurch as well as on the A31 at Ringwood and Ferndown.
There was also heavy traffic in Bournemouth and Boscombe.
One motorist described the situation as 'carnage'.
One lane remains closed, adding to the delays throughout the conurbation.
Three police cars, an ambulance and two fire engines were at the scene.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue spokesperson said a casualty was trapped in a vehicle and firefighters used cutting gear to take the roof off the vehicle.
The casualty was assessed at the scene before being taken to hospital.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said at 1.25pm, the incident was a minor injury five-vehicle RTC.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance said: "The accident happened at 12.16pm and one person was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital with injuries that are not thought to be serious."
They added: "An officer, an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called to the scene."

The A338 going towards Cooper Dean from Ringwood is at a standstill. I know this because I'm sat in the goddamn queue.
