PART of Castle Lane West was closed on Saturday afternoon due to a fuel spillage following an earlier crash.
The A3060 Castle Lane West eastbound was shut after the collision between two vehicles.
The incident took place at 12.47pm. The large fuel spill was near to Nandos and the local authority were called to clear it.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the road was open at 2.04pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters used an Environment Agency pack to deal with a spillage from one of the cars involved.
"The local authority also attended to deal with a larger diesel spillage in the area", they added.
