FIREFIGHTERS tackled a barn fire involving 30 bales of straw last night.
Dorset Fire and Rescue received multiple calls about the incident at Wood Lane in Stalbridge around 11pm on Wednesday evening.
Two crews from Sturminster Newton fire station were sent to the incident and found the barn well alight.
Crews used one main line and a hose reel jet to protect the adjacent woodland and nearby buildings.
At 11.41pm, the assistance of a further fire engine and a water carrier was requested with a fire engine from Blandford and a water bowser from Yeovil sent.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue said the fire involved 30 bales of straw and the barn structure.
Crews will return to reinspect the scene at 7am after the fire was left to burn throughout the night.
The cause has not yet been established.
