A MAN was found dead in his flat after taking an overdose and hanging himself, an inquest heard.
Christopher Chambers, of Sea Road in Barton on Sea, had a history of depression and insomnia and had been caring for his elderly mother who suffers from dementia.
The 46-year-old lost his father to motor neurone disease in 2008 and the inquest heard that since 2010 he had been taking antidepressants.
His brother, Jonathan Chambers, of Ascot, said he went to Christopher’s flat on February 10 because he had not heard from him for two days. He said he did not know Jonathan had been suicidal.
Simon Burge, deputy coroner for central Hampshire, said it was a ‘very sad case’ and ruled a verdict of suicide.
