ALL the fun of a country fair was had at Sopley at the weekend as the village's annual festival took place.
The event to raise money for the parish hall renovation was packed out as villagers and families flocked to the traditional fete at the Old Vicarage.
Dog shows, terrier racing, ferret racing all took place with vintage tractors on display and clay pigeon shooting as well.
There were stalls selling goodies, with cakes from the WI and a special tea area for people to enjoy.
Live music took place during the day, and in the evening Owls Barn hosted a hog roast and music.
Ann Ramm, member of the hall committee, and one of the organisers, said: "It was very successful. I think we must have had around 800 people there.
"That was far more than in the past.
"Every year it gets bigger and better.
"We started in 2000 as a village celebration for the centenary, with a traditional garden party.
"It's grown over the years and is now in the field next door; it's a real community event."
The money will go towards the second stage of the parish hall renovation.
