A WORRIED mother is appealing to Daily Echo readers to help find her son’s missing tortoise.
The beloved 17-year-old pet called Torty escaped from the family's garden in Broadlands Avenue, Tuckton on June 28 and hasn’t been seen since.
Desperate mum Michelle Flower has now posted 20 notices around the neighbourhood hoping that someone will find him.
She told the Echo: “Our garden is very secluded and he likes to roam around so I'm not sure how he managed to escape.
"Some of my son’s friends painted his shell with different coloured nail varnishes a few years ago which have faded but are still quite distinctive. He is a Mediterranean tortoise so he is smaller than average."
Michelle added that Torty was a gift to her son from his late grandmother.
She added: “My son isn’t very happy as Torty was a gift from my mother when he was ten years old so he has sentimental value. There is a reward for anyone who finds him.”
If you can help, please call Michelle on 07739 231658.
