FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a large fire in Poole last night.
At approximately 10.30pm, crews were called from across the conurbation to bring the fire at Ham Common under control.
Five crews – from Hamworthy, Poole, Redhill and a Unimog from Wareham – fought the flames at an area of heathland just south of the lake.
A stop message was issued at 11.37pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are going back out to re-inspect the area this morning.”
