BOWLING club members desperately tried to save the life of a fellow member who collapsed and died on the green.
The man, believed to be a Barton resident in his 70s, is thought to have suffered a massive heart attack while playing a friendly match at New Milton's Whitefield Road club on Tuesday (APR 18).
Two fellow club members battled in vain to resuscitate him while waiting for paramedics.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance landed nearby on another green and the crew were joined a land ambulance.
Despite their best efforts the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
