A HOUSE near Mudeford was struck by lightning last night as thunderstorms battered the county.
Firefighters were called to the two-storey house in Haven Close, Stanpit, just before 6.45pm on Tuesday.
According to a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesman there was a small fire around the chimney which was caused by a lightning strike.
Two crew from Christchurch attended the scene and the blaze was extinguished in less than an hour.
The spokesman said that no other emergency services were called to the scene and no one was injured in the incident.
