A DORSET-based project has announced the south’s first ‘eco’ motor show.
Big Green Wheels, organised by the Poole-headquartered Southern Sustainability Partnership, will take place on Friday May 18 at the Ageas Bowl Berm in Southampton, the home of Hampshire cricket.
The Tesla brand will be in pole position, backed up by a range of eco cars, vans, mopeds and electric pedal bikes.
Visitors will be able to test drive vehicles and try a moped and electric pedal bike practice chicane. Other stands will offer travel and transport-related products, services and fleet management, and there will be a Dorset and Hampshire Technology Pavilion.
Director Anita Potten said: “Big Green Wheels essentially provides the ability to compare leading brands, talk to experts and even enjoy a new driving experience. Whether you favour new or second-hand, outright purchase, leasing or equivalent, the decision to buy a four or two-wheeled vehicle can be among the largest investments you will make, resulting in something you have to live with for some time.
“The aim of the show is to help make that process simpler, to separate fact from fiction and ensure you are better prepared to make informed purchasing decisions.”
The event will also feature a Pit Stop Bar and Coffee Refuelling Station, an artisan food and drink market and an ‘eco’ shopping mall.
Tickets cost £10 per person, or £15 for two. Visit thebiggreenevent.co.uk/events/
