The Beach Road car park in Canford Cliffs
TRAVELLERS have set up an illegal encampment at the Beach Road car park in an exclusive area of Poole.
Around 15 caravans and scores of people are at the site and are believed to have moved there from the Glen Fern Road car park in Bournemouth.
Several vehicles have also been reported blocking the entrance to West Cliff Green in Bournemouth.
Residents have voiced fears that they are planning to move on to the green.
Bournemouth town centre was on lockdown yesterday after disorder at pubs and shops was linked to travellers.
A spokesman for Poole council said: "There is an encampment on Beach Road Car Park of caravans and campervans. We will be organising toilets and a skip to avoid contamination of the area."
