A MAN was stabbed in the back in the early hours in one of the Bournemouth neighbourhoods most known for crime.
The serious assault came during an altercation involving a group of people on Lorne Park Road at the junction with Old Christchurch Road at around 5am on Saturday, December 28.
During the incident, a man – aged in his 20s – sustained stab wounds to his back.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not life-threatening or life-changing.
Police have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to.
Detective Constable Kevin Lloyd, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following initial enquiries, I have obtained CCTV images of a man I would like to speak to.
“If you have any information about his identity, please get in touch.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police.
“Finally, I would urge motorists and local residents to check their CCTV and dashcam systems for any relevant footage around the time of the assault.”
