POLICE and fire crews were called to the Christchurch Bypass after reports of a convertible car on fire.
Temporary road closures were put in place on the A35 near the Purewell roundabout while the fire service dealt with the incident on Sunday morning.
A crew from Christchurch attended, where a fireman using a breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the red convertible Ford StreetKA.
The car was destroyed but no one was injured in the incident.
A spokesman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Purewell Cross Road, Christchurch at 10.17am yesterday morning for a convertible Ford Ka on fire.
“One crew from Christchurch attended, one breathing apparatus wearer used one hose reel jet to extinguish, sadly the car was destroyed.
“Our stop came at 10.39am. No mention of any injuries.”
