A HELICOPTER was called to Durdle Door following a medical episode.
Coastguard teams from Kimmeridge and Lulworth were called to the Purbeck coastal area at around 4pm on Thursday, August 26.
Following a medical evacuation onto the search and rescue helicopter, the casualty was flown to Dorset County Hospital.
A spokesperson for Kimmeridge Coastguard said: "Both ourselves and Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team tasked to Durdle Door this afternoon to assist with a medical evacuation of a person having a medical episode.
"Whilst ambulance crews gave treatment to the person, the teams set to work clearing a landing site on the beach for Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 175 from Lee on Solent.
"The teams then assisted in a stretcher carry to the helicopter and the person flown to Dorset County Hospital at Dorchester where Wyke Coastguard CRT attended ready to assist the helicopter crew and secure a landing site close by."
