A TRACTOR was destroyed in a fire as two crews raced to fight the blaze in rural Dorset.
Two teams of firefighters were called to a field in the Milborne St Andrew area yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, April 13, after a tractor had caught fire.
Despite the best efforts of the two crews the farming machinery was destroyed in the blaze.
A Dorchester Fire Station spokesman said: “At approximately 15:01 two crews from Dorchester were mobilised to a tractor on fire within a field in the Milborne St Andrew area.
“Two of the crew were wearing breathing apparatus using one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which completely destroyed the tractor.”
