A FLIGHT which took off from Bournemouth destined for Cyprus was diverted back to London after a medical emergency.
The TUI flight took off from Bournemouth airport at 10.21am on Wednesday morning, March 22, heading for Paphos airport on the Mediterranean island.
It was over Germany when it was diverted back to London Gatwick, due to a medical emergency and it landed at Gatwick shortly after midday.
Passengers were able to board a different flight to Paphos from Gatwick.
A spokesperson for TUI said: “Due to a medical emergency, flight BY6354 was diverted to London Gatwick after taking off from Bournemouth.
“Customers will now board a new flight out of London Gatwick to their holiday destination.”
The spokesperson added: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused. As always, the health & safety of our customers and crew remains our number one priority.”
