A FIRE broke out on board a boat that was being towed to Poole over the weekend.
Two fire crews from Poole were called to Ballast Quay in Poole Harbour at 12.38pm on Sunday, April 23.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was told by the Coastguard a boat being towed by the RNLI had suffered a fire in its engine bay.
A spokesperson said: “Two crews from Poole were mobilised to New Quay Road just after 1pm and an inspection was made on board the vessel using a thermal imaging camera.
“The fire was out so our stop was at 2.35pm.
“One crew did go back just after 6pm for a reinspection, but there were no issues.”
