A CAR ENGULFED in flames forced road closures and bus diversions in Poole.
Pedestrians and business owners looked on as a large fire destroyed a car on Wimborne Road.
Firefighters from Poole Fire Station were scrambled to the scene, as well as an ambulance crew.
Two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the flames.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 4.41pm on October 14 of a vehicle fire in Wimborne Road in Poole.
“Officers attended and road closures were put in place as the fire service responded.
“The vehicle was recovered, and the road reopened at around 7.15pm.”
Morebus was also forced to divert its buses.
“Due to a car fire on Wimborne Road, services are having to divert via Longfleet Road and Fernside Road," a Morebus statement said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
