A MAN has died in hospital after a medical emergency on a bus in Bournemouth town centre.
As reported, emergency services were seen attending a bus in The Triangle at around 2pm on Sunday, January 14.
Dorset Police confirmed on Sunday it was assisting the ambulance service with a medical emergency on the bus.
Issuing an update on Monday morning, a spokesperson for the county force said a man aged in his 60s was pronounced dead at hospital.
The spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 1.09pm on Sunday 14 January 2024 relating to a man in need of medical attention on a bus in the area of Poole Hill in Bournemouth.
“Officers attended to assist the ambulance service and the man was taken to hospital.
“Very sadly, he was subsequently pronounced dead at hospital. His family has been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 13:07hrs on Sunday 14 January to an incident in the town centre of Bournemouth. We sent two double crewed ambulances, an operations officer and an air ambulance, and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.”
