HUGE flames and black smoke surrounded a car on fire as emergency services were called to tackle the blaze.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Poole Lane roundabout in West Howe at 6.28pm on March 28.
Firefighters found one car well alight as a crew from Redhill Park worked to extinguish the flames.
Dorset Police were called to help control traffic in the area.
One hose reel was used to tackle the fire and firefighters left the scene at 6.52pm.
Vince Black, who lives close to the roundabout, said: "I noticed a vehicle pulling from the roundabout and pulled onto the verge with a lot of smoke coming from engine bay.
"The driver who appeared to be the only occupant got out and stood far away and just watched.
"After maybe five minutes it just burst into flames and very quickly took hold.
"Maybe ten minutes later the fire brigade turned up and had it out within two minutes, very professional and efficient by our fire service.
"It did however, take the police probably half an hour to arrive, and was up to public to direct traffic to avoid the quite large fire.
"Thankfully no injuries other than I suspect the driver is a bit shaken."
