FOLLOWING on from your article highlighting the salary of those in senior positions within BCP, I would say that more than the amounts that appear to be justified merely by comparison with other councils, we need to judge on performance of these officers.
We need to look at efficiency and effectiveness, for example, are the “books” being balanced, is social care adequate, is our town centre a fitting advert for a resort blessed by nature’s backdrop, are our roads useable, etc etc.
So, using monetary comparisons to justify substantial salaries is not an acceptable justification only performance can be, so, how are the individuals performing in your mind?
