DORSET and Wiltshire Fire have warned residents to keep doors and windows shut as they fight a barn fire.
Firefighters were called to fight a barn fire on Throop Road at 7.13pm on April 22 which has created a large amount of smoke.
35 firefighters have been called to the event with crews from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Christchurch, Sherbourne, and Westbourne, responding to the incident.
A spokesperson for DWFire said: "We were called to Throop Road, Bournemouth at 7.13pm tonight (22 April) with reports of a barn fire.
"We currently have crews on scene from Redhill Park, Springbourne, Christchurch (x2), Sherborne and Westbourne, together with water carriers from Poole and Ringwood, and support appliances from Poole and Hamworthy - approx 35 firefighters.
"The fire involves a 20m x 10m wooden barn containing wood and hay. Three main jets are in use."
In reaction Dorset and Wiltshire Fire have warned residents near the area to keep windows and doors shut to avoid smoke entering.
On X, DWFire said: "Anyone living near Throop Road, Bournemouth, should keep doors/windows closed tonight while we deal with a barn fire. There is a lot of smoke, which is being carried by the wind."
