WESTBOURNE’S newest coffee shop is going to open next month, bosses have confirmed.
Builders have been spotted hard at work outside the former NatWest bank in Poole Road renovating it for Coffee #1 to move in.
It was revealed in November that the national chain was interested in the site after it lodged a planning application for the disused building.
Bosses at Coffee #1 have now confirmed to the Echo that they plan to open the cafe by the end of May.
A spokeswoman said: “As it stands, the store is due to open in mid-late May. The exact opening date is still being confirmed, but that is the target time.”
Coffee #1 currently has cafes in Wimborne Road, Winton, Commercial Road, Parkstone, Southbourne Grove and High Street in Poole.
It also has branches across the country including in Bridport, Aberystwyth and Frome.
NatWest closed its Westbourne branch in October 2017 and the empty building has had problems with squatters in the past.
