POLICE were called to a large organised car meet in Poole.
Officers from the Roads Policing Units (RPU) and the Poole Neighbourhood Team (NPT) were made aware of a 'considerably large' organised car meet at Sandbanks car park.
The meet took place on Thursday, April 25, and saw a number of vehicles gather at the popular spot for car enthusiasts.
The police intermittently attended the location and areas throughout the evening in marked and unmarked. They also used CCTV cameras and were in direct communication with operators.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "To be clear, our priority was to ensure the safety of all attendees, other road users, and pedestrians as there have recently been multiple serious Road Traffic Collisions (RTC) in the same area, some of which resulted in life-changing injuries.
"The majority of enthusiasts were good natured, chatted with officers and listened to advice - we appreciate it!"
There were a few motorists who received Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) due to driving without due care and attention/dangerous driving, and another vehicle was seized for having no insurance.
