A CAR caught fire at a busy crossroads on Sunday evening.
Firefighters were called a car fire that started in the engine bay while it was in Parley Cross in West Parley shortly after 7pm on Sunday, April 28.
A crew from Rehill fire station rushed to the scene to find the vehicle fully on fire and extinguished the blaze.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious by the police.
A crew from Redhill Park was called to Parley Cross at 7.03pm yesterday evening following reports of a vehicle fire.
“On arrival, firefighters found the engine bay of a vehicle well alight – a breathing apparatus wearer used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“Our stop was in at 7.24pm and the incident handed over to our police colleagues.”
Dorset Police’s spokesman said: “We received a report at 7.08pm of a vehicle fire in New Road in Bournemouth.
“Officers attended to assist the fire service and arrange for recovery of the vehicle. Officers left the scene at around 8.45pm.”
