A New Milton man arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 43-year-old woman on Monday evening has been released with no further action.
Police, who have named the woman as Jennifer Hurl, have described the death as a “very tragic accident” and released the 42-year-old man.
She was found at her home in Cadhay Close, New Milton, with serious head injuries around 5pm on Monday evening but later died in Southampton General Hospital.
DI Nick Heelan, who is leading the investigation, said: “All unexpected deaths are treated seriously by Hampshire Constabulary and are fully investigated. After conducting extensive enquiries into Ms Hurl’s death, from all the evidence gathered and the outcome of the post-mortem, everything indicates that this death is the result of a very tragic accident.”
Neighbour, Carly Saunders, said: “It’s just really shocking.”
