A JETSKIER was airlifted to hospital after colliding with a boat in Poole Harbour on Saturday.
Coastguards were called at 1.40pm to the harbour entrance after the skipper of another boat made an emergency call to say that the jet ski had collided with a boat called Albarra.
A spokesman said: "The jet-ski rider was thrown from his craft and had sustained head injuries."
The RNLI said that the man had a "serious gash" on his head.
The Coastguard helicopter was scrambled to the scene, along with Poole RNLI lifeboats and the Poole Harbour Launch.
The helicopter lifted the man to the helicopter landing site in Poole and he was transferred to Poole Hospital by ambulance.
Nobody aboard the boat was injured and the RNLI escorted it back to its berth at Parkstone Bay Marina.
