AN angry Poole resident has accused Wilts and Dorset Bus drivers of clipping his parked car three times in a year.
Jim Gardener, of North Road, said buses continue to hit his parked Suzuki jeep – and on the last occasion the driver didn’t even stop.
“I was livid, I rushed out and chased the bus down the road in my socks,” said the irate 45-year-old.
“But the driver didn’t stop. There were people on the back set looking at me but they did nothing. It is so infuriating – they must know when they hit a car.”
Mr Gardener says the first time the jeep was clipped was December 2009, when it was parked outside his home.
On that occasion the driver did stop but told him he didn’t know he’d hit it.
Then – last November – the jeep was hit again, this time losing the entire mudguard and sustaining bodywork damage.
“The driver did stop this time and he handed me a card with insurance details. We were waiting to get this fixed when it was hit again last week.”
The third accident, on December 29, at 1.15pm, was the final straw.
Mr Gardener said: “I’ve just had enough. It is not on is it?
“I mean, to be hit three times at the same place in a year cannot be right.”
However, a Wilts and Dorset Buses spokesman said the company has no record of any incidents taking place or of any insurance claim by Mr Gardener.
The spokesman insisted: “If we are at fault for any accident, we pay. It’s that simple.”
Meanwhile, Mr Gardener said: “They come along North Road so fast, but it is the driving off that angers me most.
“If someone ran out there would be one hell of an accident. Other people have had their cars hit by buses along North Road as well.
“Our houses are not that far from the road – all it needs is one of these buses to slam on its brakes and we will have a bus in our lounge.”
