A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in an accident that closed the A338 in Bournemouth.
Police were called to the scene at 9.26am after reports of a crash on the northbound stretch of the road at the Cooper Dean Flyover.
They found a black motorbike had crashed – the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both carriageways of the A338 had reopened by 4pm.
A police spokesman said: “Due to the proximity of a stationary Dorset Road Safe safety camera van at the incident, the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.”
Traffic is heavy on all roads surrounding the scene and also on the A31 approach to the A338.
The deceased's family have been informed and the coroner has been made aware.
