A TEENAGE girl who died after a road crash has saved four lives by donating her organs.
Esther Walters, 17, died in hospital 24 hours after the car she was travelling in was involved in a single-vehicle crash in the New Forest.
The A-level student was on her way home to Sandleheath, Fordingbridge, from her part-time job at holiday park Sandy Balls, in Godshill, with two fellow employees, when the accident occurred.
A 17-year-old teenager, also from Fordingbridge, who was sitting in the back seat suffered serious spinal injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
Now Esther’s family have told how their special “angel” will be remembered forever after she has transformed lives by giving the “final gift” of life-changing organs.
It comes as almost 1,500 friends, family members and strangers have left heartfelt tributes to the popular youngster on a social networking page named Esther Walters Forever Loved.
Her cousin Georgina Budd said: “Ever since she was little she had that smile and a kindness about her that made her almost glow. There is no doubt that this girl was special and will remain special in every heart that knew her, and of course to those people whose lives have been transformed by her final gift of life-saving organs.”
Esther was the front seat passenger when the Vauxhall Corsa overturned just outside Fordingbridge on the B3078 at 11.30pm last Thursday.
A 19-year-old man, also from Fordingbridge, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and been released on police bail until September 19.
