ROCK star Noel Gallagher made a surprise appearance at a Bournemouth restaurant ahead of his band’s appearance at the BIC.
The former Oasis guitarist and founder of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds found time for a quick Chicken Jalfrezi and Chicken Bahari at the Little India in Old Christchurch Road.
After washing down his meal with a Kingfisher beer, Noel found time to chat to eager fans who were amazed to find themselves dining alongside a legend.
Restaurant manager Aman Ullah said he urged customers to leave him alone until he had finished his meal.
He told the Daily Echo: “A group of six men turned up for a booking at 8pm on Monday and had drinks before ordering their food.
“When they ordered they asked for an extra couple of dishes and said someone else would be joining them. I recognised him straightaway when he walked in the door.
“I could see that other people had recognised him but I asked them to let him eat.”
It’s not the first time restaurant owner Abu Sorwar has served famous customers. In 2002 he transported a meal to the USA for rapper Ice-T and two years later served Jennifer Ellison at his Bournemouth restaurant.
