POLICE were called to a Bournemouth bar last Thursday night where English Defence League supporters were holding a demonstration.
Officers attended the Havana Bar on Charminster Road at 10.50pm and spoke to a group of around ten people, with EDL banners, who were distributing leaflets.
According to the group’s Facebook page the protest was held in connection with an alleged assault in July.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: “They were asked to disperse and did so peacefully.
“Dorset Police are making enquiries to ascertain if any offences have been committed. No one has been arrested at this present moment in time.”
Officers were called there at 12.30am on Sunday, July 27, following reports a 51-year-old woman had been attacked.
Witnesses and anyone with information about either incident should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 – quoting incident number 29:562 for the demonstration, or 27:29 for the alleged assault.
