IT MAY be the summer solstice but you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d woken up in the middle of autumn.

The weather will continue to be grey and grizzly for the majority of the week, with the odd day of intermittent sunshine.

Temperatures are below average for this time of the year at around 13-14C today, Monday, 21 June.

There will be a wet start to the week with heavy downpours persisting throughout the day on Monday and there will be a strong breeze which will make the temperature feel much colder.

Tuesday will be mostly fine and dry with a covering of cloud which is expected to lift by Wednesday to reveal a warmer and sunnier day.

This will all change again by Thursday when we can expect some light rain, showers remain possible on Friday though the sun should break through the clouds into the weekend.

Forecaster Bournemouth and Poole Weather predicts a slowly improving picture through the week as high temperature builds from the west.
