THE Arnewood School in New Milton is celebrating after making it into Ofsted’s list of outstanding schools.
Not only is the school among those listed as “outstanding” during the 2012/13 academic year, but it has also made it to the list of schools which have met the required criteria since 1993.
The lists were published as part of Ofsted’s annual report for 2012/13. Headteacher Chris Hummerstone said: “This has capped off a fantastic year for the school.
“In January we were judged outstanding when Ofsted carried out an inspection of the school. In the summer our students achieved excellent GCSE and A-level results. And now we have received this news that we are among the country’s top education providers for the past 20 years.
“This is testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff and students and I am immensely proud of all of them.”
Ofsted’s outstanding providers’ list includes maintained schools, independent schools, colleges, independent learning providers, early years registered providers, adult education and children’s social care.
Education establishments listed are those judged outstanding overall during the academic year 2012/13. The Arnewood School is also included in a second list of all providers who have met the required criteria in the years they have been inspected since 1993.
