WHEN Big Issue seller Ralph Millward was killed three years ago, the response from the community was extraordinary.
Few realised before the 41-year-old’s tragic death in Westbourne how much he’d touched the hearts of the shoppers and residents who saw him every day.
Floral tributes left outside Marks and Spencer, close to where three teenagers robbed him of his life, told their own poignant story. Ralph was, by all accounts, a good guy.
When Warren Crago, Craig Real, both by then 17 and Jimmy Ayres (15) were found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to four years, four years nine months and 90 weeks respectively, there was an outcry in the community.
Many felt the sentences were “pathetic”. Now the trio are out on licence and two– Warren Crago and Craig Real – are using their Facebook pages to post messages that carry an air of arrogant defiance. Crago provocatively is even using his custody picture for his Facebook profile.
How proud he must feel.
And so much for expressions of remorse
