MARC Pugh admits Cherries are still learning about the Championship but he insists: “It has been a decent start.”
Following promotion from League One, Eddie Howe’s men have secured five wins – and 18 points – from 15 league games this term.
Pugh has netted four goals in 16 appearances in all competitions.
The 26-year-old believes it is important to keep expectations at a reasonable level as Cherries continue to find their feet in the second tier.
He told the Daily Echo: “We are still learning in this league and the expectancy around the place is so high at the moment because we have had some great results.
“Every game is a battle. For instance, when teams like Barnsley come here, with no disrespect to them, the fans expect us to beat them, but they are a good team at this level. They are all big clubs.”
