KEVIN Bond has admitted that he could be ready to listen to offers for Josh Gowling in the January transfer window.
The Cherries boss revealed that the defender's agent has been in contact with him about the possibility of a move away from Dean Court and that allowing Gowling to leave would depend on whether a replacement could be found.
With Sean O'Driscoll's Doncaster Rovers seeing their last-ditch loan bid hit the buffers back in November, reports have suggested that the former Cherries boss is either preparing a £75,000 bid for the defender or will attempt to take him on loan again.
Bond told the Daily Echo: "I've spoken to Josh's agent and I said I'd have a think about things.
"It depends on a lot of things at the moment. If we could get another central defender and if Josh wants to go, then it might happen if everything fell into place.
"But nothing has been decided yet."
Gowling was signed by O'Driscoll and handed a 12-month deal after impressing during a trial spell in the summer of 2005.
But he was just 15 games into his Cherries career when he ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee during the 2-0 win at Brentford in October 2005.
Despite his injury, O'Driscoll rewarded him with a new contract in February, which keeps him at Dean Court until the summer of 2008.
But the former West Brom trainee has seen his first-team opportunities limited so far this season and although Gowling declined to make any comment on the speculation, it is understood that he could be keen to get away to find regular first-team football.
Meanwhile, giant French striker Morike Sako is currently on trial with Cherries and has been pencilled in to play in next Tuesday's reserve clash at QPR.
The 6ft7in former Torquay forward was on a short-term contract with Rochdale until December and has scored three goals in 19 appearances this term, but is now looking to join a club in a higher division.
Bond said: "We'll take a look at him in training over the next few days and he'll probably play in the reserve game next week."
The Cherries boss is also casting his eye over Portsmouth defender Mark Wilson and highly-rated non-league striker Steve Diggin this week, but is still waiting to hear whether he will be able to recruit Simon Gillett and Matthew Connolly on new loan deals.
