POOLE Town have signed Sierra Leone international and ex-Tranmere winger Abdulai Baggie.
The former Reading trainee scored four goals in 55 Football League appearances during his time at Prenton Park.
While with the Royals he represented England under-16 and under-17s and gathered professional experience on loan at Rotherham and Port Vale prior to his release.
Ill-fated spells at Hayes & Yeading and Salisbury City preceded his big chance at Tranmere where his form led to a senior international call-up in 2013.
Baggie signed for Bristol Rovers a year ago before ending up with fallen giants Stockport in the National North over the summer where he stayed until February.
Dolphins manager Tom Killick told the Daily Echo: “I tried to sign him a couple of years ago from Salisbury but recently got alerted to his availability.
“When you have the chance to sign a player with his pedigree, you need to act quickly and we are glad to bring him on board.
“Players with his experience don’t come along every day and his presence can only boost our cause at the sharp end of the season.”
Baggie, the partner of Adam Lallana's sister Natalie, goes straight into Poole’s squad for tomorrow’s trip to Leamington (3pm).
